Typical weatherspoons pub, decent quality pub grub with cheap drinks to wash it down with. Busy at weekends and staff are always pleasant. Worth a visit.

Very cheap! decent food. Well worth a visit. Its microwave fast food at it's best. for the price if you don't like it just leave and go elsewhere. Can't loose. Bad points: No music. Good points: John Smiths. & free wifi :)

The Liquorice Gardens is a rarity, in that it is a Wetherspoons pub that is actually decent! The beer is usually kept well and maintained, they have a great guest ale array, along with ciders and foreign bottled beers also. The food choice is pretty good too with many deals on in the week such as curry club, grill night and the sunday roast night. The pub has no live music license therefore, the only noise there ever is is that of chitter chatter, which on a friday or saturday night can be quite chaotic! If you aren't a fan of loud areas then avoid on a friday or saturday night between the hours of 8 and 10, after this point it does tend to die down.

not a bad pub, in need of alot of work but it would be much better if the staff may actually want to serve rather that leaving us customers waiting, and it just seem so dull, Ales arent as good anymore either.. alot ive tried taste a bit vinegary!
